The jury of the 15th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Making Competition in Poznań, composed of: Frank Ravatin – Chair, Krzysztof Krupa, Antoine Nedelec, Ji Hwan Park, Agata Szymczewska – Vice-Chairwoman, Noémie Viaud and Soyoung Yoon, decided to award and divide the statutory prizes as follows:
1st Prize: 18 000 euro (gross) goes to PAWEŁ KUBACKA (Poland), for the SONA instrument (nos. 42-3-10)
2nd Prize: 6 000 euro (gross) goes to PAWEŁ KUBACKA (Poland) for the LUNA instrument (nos. 43-5-6)
3rd Prize: 4 000 euro (gross) goes to LIU ZHAOJUN (China), for the SUNRISE instrument (nos. 30-8-1)
The winners will also receive honorary diplomas.
Moreover, the Jury of the Competition awarded two special prizes:
Special Prize of 2 000 euro (gross) for the instrument LUNA (nos. 43-5-6) of highest rated violin-making properties goes to PAWEŁ KUBACKA (Poland)
Special Prize 2 000 euro (gross) for the instrument SUNRISE (nos. 30-8-1) of highest rated acoustic properties goes to LIU ZHAOJUN (China)
In the Competition, the following Prize was also awarded:
Extra-Statutory Prize for the highest aesthetic properties of the scroll, funded by Piotr Pielaszek (1,500 euros gross and a statuette), for the instrument ODISSEO (nos. 21-9-2), goes to DAMIANO CATESI (Italy)
